BUDGET/PROGRAM: Jefferson County Law Library
GOALS FOR FY2017
1. Maintain an up to date law library
2. Establish a Law Library Board of Trustees as provided for in RCW 27.24
3. Maintain Westlaw subscription and apply updates as needed
4. Repair bookshelves and replace seat cushions
5. Surplus law books in an appropriate manner
OBJECTIVES FOR FY2017
1. Seek training opportunities in order to provide helpful input
2. Seek interested members for board of trustees
3. Reexamine contracts with Westlaw with a goal of more fiscally appropriate subscription
4. Maintain furnishings and work with facilities regarding any repairs

SUMMARY OF KEY FUNDING/SERVICE ISSUES:
the Jefferson County Law Library does not sustain itself financially and yearly appropriations from the General Fund are typical. The law library has historically been
utilized as an enhancement to the courtroom and as a limited but wholly adequate source for legal research. The public uses the law library on a regular basis, with an
occasional student benefiting from the convenience of having a law library functioning at a local level.
