JEFFERSON COUNTY
MISSION:
To provide effective and timely resolution of all legal matters brought before the Court; to assure procedural fairness to all court participants; to educate the public
about and promote respect of the judicial system; and to maintain the independence of the judiciary. Procedural fairness assures that participants feel that they
have been given an opportunity to present their matter to the court; that decisions are made based upon the law and facts in each case in an open and unbiased
manner; that all participants are treated with dignity and respect; and that the court explains its decisions to the participants so that they might understand how
and why decisions are made.

GOALS FOR FY2019
1. Continue to monitor and provide statistics for Jefferson Co. Therapeutic Courts
2. Review training monitoring guardianships & provide assistance to lay guardians
3. Implement Mandatory Arbitration Rules
4. Improve technology in Superior courtroom as to video and attorney access to defendants
OBJECTIVES FOR FY2019
1. Continue to provide administrative support for Jefferson County Therapeutic Courts
2. Seek out appropriate trainings with regards to guardianship facilitator programs
3. Comply with Jefferson County Mandatory Arbitration Rules.
4. Work with JAVS regarding improved technology in Superior courtroom
