The Department of Public Works has reviewed the referenced proposal and has the following
comments which are based on the standards of the Washington Department of Ecology's Stormwater
Management Manual for the Puget Sound Basin:
* The proposal includes the construction of less than 5,000 square feet of impervious surface
and less than acre of land disturbing activity. The Jefferson County Department of Public
Works has adopted the Washington Department of Ecology's Stormwater Management
Manual for the Puget Sound Basin to provide standards for avoiding impacts related to
erosion, sedimentation, and stormwater runoff. Manual Section I-2.3 requires proponents for
developments which meet these criteria to implement a Small Parcel Erosion and Sediment
Control Plan as per Manual Section I-3.3 that applies the Small Parcel Minimum Requirements
from Manual Section I-2.3.
* A copy of this memo, instructions for developing a small parcel erosion control plan, and a
description of the Small Parcel Minimum Requirements have been sent to the applicant.
* The applicant shall submit a Small Parcel Erosion Control Plan to the Department for
review and approval prior to issuance of a building permit.
*The Department charges a fee of$47 per hour for review of erosion control and stormwater site
plans.
