Share air time and encourage all members to participate DRAFT MINUTES Dec. 12, 2018 3:00 to 4:00 pm Chimacum High School Library THE CHIMACUM PREVENTION COALITION Dec. 12, 2018 MEETING WILL BE FROM 3:00 – 4:00 AT THE CHIMACUM HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY, 91 WEST VALLEY ROAD, CHIMACUM, WA. PURPOSE OF THE MEETING: Report on ad hoc ACES presentation meeting, schedule Vaping presentation, schedule dates for Drug Identification for Educational Professionals Training, report on Grange Teen Dances Facilitators for this meeting: Denise Banker In attendance: Sarah Rogers, Kris Becker, Mark Gudger, Ciela Meyer, Richard Davies, Justine Bedell, Chris Hoffman-Hill Time/Facilitator Activity 3:00 Denise Call meeting to order; Approve agenda – Sarah moved, Ciela seconded. Minutes – Chris moved, Jessica seconded. Motions carried. 3:05 Denise Reported on action items from last meeting: ~Vape education presentation for parents by Aarti Patel planned for early February. Denise and Karen Obermeyer of Jefferson County Public Health will provide small group sessions for youth. Mark confirmed interest also from Quilcene School District and will invite Port Townsend School District as well. ~Social Host proclamation to be included in January meetings of Board of Health and Board of County Commissioners. ~Signed up for Drug Facts Chat Day as part of Drug Facts Week (Jan 22-27). 3:15 Denise/Chris/Ciela/Sarah Report on ad hoc meeting re 2 ACES presentations and discussion of intended audience and funding sources for: ~ Screening of film Paper Tigers with facilitated discussion and education re: ACEs/Resilience screening and trauma-informed care ~Skills training on trauma-informed care by Linda Chamberlain Mark will see if there is room in CSD’s professional development schedule. Jefferson County Public Health http://www.jeffersoncountypublichealth.org/index.php?c-p-c Denise Banker 360-385-9438 dbanker@co.jefferson.wa.us 3:30 Denise & Mark Training to identify drug impairment (recognizing signs and effects) will be offered for parents and general public. 3:40 Denise Tia and Denise working w/ Danny of Thunderbull to organize Grange Teen Dances. Will need funding, chaperones, youth ideas and input. Will update in January. 3:50 Mark Coalition meetings on Jan 9 and Apr 10 to be held from 3:30 – 4:30. 3:55 Justine Update on youth homelessness initiative and help needed from schools and others re: homelessness point-in-time count and involvement in HUD’s Youth Homelessness Demonstration Project. Sarah agreed. Mark will connect Justine to CSD’s special services office. 4:00 Denise Look for Coalition posts on JCPH Facebook page. Close Meeting. The Jan. 9th, 2019 meeting of the Chimacum Prevention Coalition will be held at the Chimacum High School Library from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUG PREVENTION IS GOOD WORK.
