RE: Request for Board of County Commissioners approval of a resolution directing the
ri
creation of a Jefferson CountyConservation District Fund—Fund 648-000-010.
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Jefferson County, on November 26, 2018, approved Resolution 60-18,which approved a system
of rates and charges to provide revenue for the Jefferson County Conservation District to fund
services benefitting properties within the conservation district. The resolution did not address
the necessary financial mechanism to collect and account for funds collected under the system of
rates and changes authorized. The County needs to create an agency fund for this purpose.
ANALYSIS:
The attached resolution directs the Jefferson County Auditor to activate Fund 648-000-010—
Jefferson County Conservation District Fund, effective January 28, 2019, into which the
Jefferson County Treasurer will deposit all Conservation District funds collected under the
approved system of rates and charges.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This request has no fiscal impact—it simply establishes an agency fund..
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Board of County Commissioners approve this request and the attached proposed
resolution.

FUND 648-000-010—JEFFERSON COUNTY}
CONSERVATION DISTRICT FUND }
WHEREAS, Jefferson County, on November 26, 2018, approved Resolution 60-18 which approved a
system of rates and charges to provide revenue for the Jefferson County Conservation District; and
WHEREAS, funds raised through this system of rates and charges were intended to enable the
Conservation District to provide services benefitting properties within the district; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 60-18 did not address the necessary financial mechanism to collect and
account for funds collected under the system of rates and charges authorized; and
WHEREAS, an agency fund is needed to collect and account for funds collected under the approved
system of rates and charges;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners hereby
directs the Jefferson County Auditor to activate Fund 648-000-010—Jefferson County Conservation District
Fund, effective January 28, 2019, into which the Jefferson County Treasurer will deposit all Conservation
District funds collected under the approved system of rates and charges.
