SUBJECT: RESOLUTION: Disposal of Surplus County Equipment at Auction
ATTACH: Resolution for Notice of Intention to Sell Surplus Property
Notice of Public Hearing
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Central Service's Fleet Services Division and Public Works have
surplus equipment to be disposed. RCW 36.34.020, 36.34.030, 36.34.340, 36.34.050 &
36.34.090 outline statutory requirements to dispose of property. The list of equipment is
included in the draft Resolution.
ANALYSIS: Equipment to be sold auction by GovDeals, Inc., of Montgomery, Alabama
and benefiting from the State of Washington Department of Enterprise Services contract
#02814. Items for sale will be available for viewing at the County Shop located at 371
Chimacum Road, Port Hadlock, WA. once they have been posted online for sale by
GovDeals, Inc.
FISCAL IMPACT: Minimal revenue is expected. Proceeds from items will be returned to
individual departments separately (after Treasurer and Auditor publication expenses and
the auctioneer's percentage are deducted).
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution for Notice of Intention to Sell Surplus
County Property and approve the Notice of Public Hearing.

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the County Commissioners of Jefferson County to dispose
of surplus property; and
WHEREAS,the various departments have indicated a need to dispose of those items on
the list of surplus equipment attached to this Resolution

WHEREAS, a public auction will be held on online by by GovDeals, Inc., of
Montgomery, Alabama
WHEREAS, RCW 36.34.020 requires that an intention to declare surplus be published
with a Notice of Public Hearing regarding the disposal of any County property.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of Jefferson County
that they make a Notice of Public Hearing shall be published as required by RCW 36.34.020
particularly describing the property to be sold and designating the place where,the day and hour,
when the hearing will be held for such consideration.

ON THE INTENTION OF JEFFERSON COUNTY
TO SELL SURPLUS COUNTY PROPERTY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners will
hold a public hearing on the 11th day of March, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in the County
Commissioner's Chambers, Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson Street, Port
Townsend, Washington, for the purpose of declaring their intention to dispose of surplus
County property, partially described as follows:
