SUMMARY
Performs various computerized billing and bookkeeping activities, maintains
accounting records and performs various financial and administrative
JIll" associated support functions by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Designs and maintains systems to provide financial information for reports
required from Department.
Keeps one or more sections of a set of books for the Department. Assists in
the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and monthly closing of books.
Performs reconciliations, balances books and complies reports on a recurring
basis to show statistics, such as cash receipt and expenditures, accounts
payable and receivable, time sheets and other items pertaining to the
operations of the department.
Operates computers to record data and maintain records of transactions.

Provides technical support for departmental computer functions.

Responds orally or in writing to inquires routed from other departments
outside agencies, supplying information or opinions and instructions as
authorized; directs difficult situations to proper individuals.
Prepares and submits all monthly grant and service contract billing to a
variety of State and other outside agencies.
Prepares department payroll and monthly comprehensive time reports and
answers payroll and related questions.
Reviews, develops and installs bookkeeping procedures and systems.
Coordinates and cooperates with outside Auditors as required during periodic
audits of the Department's financial records.
Deposits all departmental revenues with County Treasurer and maintains
fund balances and investment account balances as appropriate to meet
monthly cash flow needs.

QUALIFICA TIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and four (4)
years of progressively responsible experience with data entry,
spreadsheets, accounts receivable and payable, accounting records and
bookkeeping; and experience and/or training in accounting,
bookkeeping, record keeping; or advanced computer software
applications, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating

and maintenance instructions, and computer procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak
effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure,
using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to
compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to understand moderately complex instructions furnished in
written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving
several concrete variables in non-standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Washington State Driver's License

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Advanced knowledge of computers and skill in the demonstrated use of
Excel spreadsheet, database, word processing, and other software
applications used in the operation of the department.
Ability to organize, evaluate and present information.
