Statement of Issue:
Bid opening at 10:15 a.m. or shortly thereafter for construction of the
South Discovery Road Pavement Preservation Project, Project No.
1801976.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's Et Cons:
A Call for Bids was issued by the Jefferson County Board of County
Commissioners on January 28, 2019. This project is included in the
2019-2024 Transportation Improvement Program and the 2019 Annual
Construction Program as Item No. 3. The purpose of this project is to
preserve the roadway surface by placing a hot mix asphalt overlay and
other work, for this segment of South Discovery Road.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis:
Construction for this project is funded with a grant from the County
Road Administration Board (C.R.A.B.), Rural Arterial Program (R.A.P.)
at the ratio of 90%. The remainder of the cost will be funded from the
C.R.A.B. County Arterial Preservation Program (CAPP).The Engineer's
Estimate for construction is $440,885.70.
Recommendation: The Board is requested to witness the public bid opening and direct
Public Works to review the bids and make a recommendation for
award at a later date.
