Dear Mr. Berrian:
RE: Detached Garage Located at 711 Rhododendron Lane, in Brinnon
I'm writing to notify you that Mr. Larry Fay has approved your
building application request for the detached garage, but he also
asked me to comment the Health Department' s concerns with the site.
As noted during the site visit on February 10, 1994, the crrairifeld
for the existing mobile home is under a portion of the driveway and
it appears one drainfield lateral is also under the new detached
garage. I explained to Mr. Fay the things I observed of the
existing sewage disposal system lay out was not quite consistent as
shown on design from the 1973 repair sewage disposal permit.
The photos you provided show the previous owner had placed building
structures on the property, notably, a garage structure in the same
general location where your new detached garage has been built.
You've indicated you are not experiencing problems with the septic
system at this time. We caution you on your continue use of the
sewage system, since the portion the drainfield under the garage
and driveway does not meet current regulations and this could lead
to failure of the septic system. However, if you should experience
any difficulties with the sewage disposal system, then a repair
system may have to be designed somewhere in the area where the test
holes were dug. Due to the property limitations, it is important to
keep this area free of permanent structures, so it may be easier to
go into with equipment to make the necessary repairs.
