AS SURPLUS AND SELL SURPLUS }
PROPERTY } RESOLUTION NO. 14-19
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the County Commissioners of Jefferson County to dispose of
surplus property; and
WHEREAS, various departments have indicated a need to dispose of items as follows:

Approximately 184 DF sawlogs, 16-36 feet in random lengths, minimum bid $2,500; and
WHEREAS, the various departments have indicated a need to dispose of those items on the list
of surplus equipment at public auction to be held online by by GovDeals, Inc., of Montgomery,
Alabama. Items for sale will be available for viewing at the County Shop located at 371
Chimacum Road, Port Hadlock, WA. once they have been posted online for sale by GovDeals,
Inc.; and
WHEREAS, RCW 36.34.020 requires that an intention to declare surplus be published with a
Notice of Public Hearing regarding the disposal of any County property has been met and the
public hearing held on March 11, 2019.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of Jefferson County that they
make a finding and determination as required by RCW 36.34.050 to declare the particularly
described property as surplus and allow the Treasurer to proceed with the disposition of said
surplus items.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners hereby
directs the Jefferson County Auditor upon successful sale or disposal of the equipment listed in
this resolution to remove said equipment from the Jefferson County Equipment Inventory.

SUBJECT: PUBLIC HEARING AND POSSIBLE RESOLUTION: Disposal of
Surplus County Equipment at Auction
ATTACH: DRAFT RESOLUTION: In the Matter of Finding and
Determination to Declare Certain County Equipment as Surplus and
Sell Surplus Property
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Central Services and Public Works have surplus equipment to be
disposed. RCW 36.34.020, 36.34.030, 36.34.340, 36.34.050 & 36.34.090 outline statutory
requirements to dispose of property. The list of equipment is included within the draft
Resolution.
ANALYSIS: Equipment to be sold by public auction to be held on online by by GovDeals,
Inc., of Montgomery, Alabama. A minimum bid of $2,500 is suggested only for the sawlogs
as detailed in the list of items to surplus.
FISCAL IMPACT: Minimal revenue is expected. Proceeds from items will be returned to
individual departments separately (after Treasurer and Auditor publication expenses and
the auctioneer's percentage are deducted).
RECOMMENDATION: Hold a public hearing, consider comments and, as appropriate,
approve the Resolution to Declare Certain County Equipment as Surplus and Sell Surplus
Property.
