March 20, 2019 Michael Horsfall Trste Jonalyn Horsfall Trste Jonalyn Horsfall Rev Trst 15717 SE Wills Way Portland, OR 97267-4275 RE: Parcel: 990 400 486 Case: CAR19-00001 Dear Michael Horsfall, Jefferson County Department of Community Development has completed a Critical Area Review on your parcel 990 400 486, located on Machias Loop Road in Port Ludlow, WA at your request. The Jefferson County GIS mapping system maps a Type 5 seasonal stream entering your property at the SE corner of the parcel moving NW. Our mapping data for streams is obtained and provided by Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR). A site visit was made by Jefferson County Wetland Biologist: Donna Frostholm and Project Planner: Shannen Cartmel on March 19, 2019. During this site visit, it was determined that the mapped stream was not present on the property. It appears that there is a drainage path that has formed during seasons of high rainfall. Water was not present at the time of site visit and no vegetation or soils indicated that this drainage would be regulated as a stream in Jefferson County. Jefferson County cannot update the mapping to remove this stream. However, for building on this property, Jefferson County will not regulate this drainage as a stream. The applicant may wish to contact DNR to inquire about removing this stream mapping through a stream type modification process. Any future critical areas mapped on this property will be subject to individual review if data changes at any time. Respectfully, Shannen Cartmel Assistant Planner
