SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
March 8, 2019

The meeting began at 1:32 p.m. Board of Equalization members Dave Garing, Henry Krist and
Michael Smith were present.
FORMATION OF THE BOARD
OATH: All members were sworn in by the Clerk of the Board.
ELECTION: Member Smith moved to appoint Member Garing to serve as Chairman of the
Board for the 2018 appeal season. Member Krist seconded the motion which carried by a
unanimous vote.
Chairman Garing moved to appoint Member Krist to serve as Vice -Chairman of the Board for the
2018 appeal season. Member Smith seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
All members signed the Minutes and Proceedings form.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Vice -Chairman Krist moved to approve the minutes for the 2017 Board of Equalization Season:
January 23, 2018; February 13 and 27, 2018 -'March 29, 2018; April 10 and 11, 2018; May 1, 9 and 15,
2018; and July 31, 2018. Member Smith seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
ASSESSMENT CORRECTIONS AND PETITION WITHDRAWALS
Vice -Chairman Krist moved to accept the following assessment corrections and petition
withdrawals. Member Smith seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.

ASSESSOR'S CERTIFICATE OF ASSESSMENT ROLLS
The Board reviewed the Assessor's Certificate of Assessment Rolls:

Personal Property: $50,035,800
New Construction: $61,847,367
Vice -Chairman Krist moved to accept the Assessor's Certificate of Assessment Rolls for 2017 in the
amounts listed above. Member Smith seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
ASSESSOR'S ANNUAL UPDATE
Assessor Jeff Chapman Provided the Board with an Annual Update of property values in Jefferson
County. He submitted a sales chart.
ADJOURNMENT
Vice -Chairman Krist moved to adjourn the meeting at 2:37 p.m. Member Smith seconded the motion
which carried by a unanimous vote.
