SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
8:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2018
Jefferson County Courthouse, County Administrator’s Conference Room
Present: Board Members Mel Mefford, Howard Scott, David Faber, David Sullivan and
Secretary Erin Lundgren were present.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m.
Approval of Minutes: Member Faber moved to approve the regular meeting minutes of
October 9, 2018 as presented. Member Mefford seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Member Mefford excused himself from the meeting at 8:31 a.m.
Closed Session: The Board was scheduled to meet in Closed Session from 8:31 a.m. to 8:50
a.m. Chair Sullivan announced that the remaining members will be meeting in Closed Session
from 8:31 a.m. to 8:50 a.m. with the LEOFF I Board Secretary to review and discuss medical
expenses under exemption RCW 42.30.140(2) as outlined in the Open Public Meeting Act. The
Closed Session was concluded and the regular meeting was resumed at 8:37 a.m.
Determination on Payment of Health Care Expenses: Member Faber moved to approve
payment reimbursement of medical expenses submitted by LEOFFI Retiree Mel Mefford
pursuant to Part 9, section 9.8, subsection 9.8.3 of the LEOFFI Board Rules, Policies and
Procedures. Member Scott seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 8:38 a.m. until the next regularly scheduled
meeting on April 9, 2019 or special meeting as properly noticed.
