SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
8:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2017
Jefferson County Courthouse, County Administrator’s Conference Room
Present: Board Members David Sullivan, Mel Mefford, David Faber and Secretary Erin
Lundgren were present. Members Howard Scott and Robyn Chisholm were absent.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m.
Closed Session: The Board was scheduled to meet in closed session from 8:31 a.m. to 9:00
a.m. with the LEOFF I Board Secretary to review and discuss medical expenses under
exemption RCW 42.30.140(2) as outlined in the Open Public Meeting Act. The actual period of
time the Board met in Closed Session on this topic was from 9:01 a.m. to 9:07 a.m. At the
conclusion of the Closed Session the Board resumed the Special Meeting.
Determination on Payment of Medical Expenses: Member Faber moved to reject payment of
medical expenses submitted by LEOFFI Retiree Loren Krieger on the basis that the expenses
were not timely submitted as required pursuant to section 8.3 of the LEOFFI Board Rules,
Policies and Procedures. Member Mefford seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 9:08 a.m. until the next regularly scheduled
meeting on October 10, 2017 or special meeting as properly noticed.
