Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin,
A septic system monitoring inspection was completed May 16, 2014.The following items were identified
that needed correction:
1. Distribution box was deteriorated and needed to be replaced
2. Roots were observed in the tank indicating that the tank was not watertight
3. Risers were required on the center opening and outlet of the tank.
On May 6, 2015 a site visit was completed at the above referenced property to verify that the items
above were corrected and to observe the condition and location of the onsite sewage system serving
the residence.
Areas of the system were exposed to determine its location and level of compliance with current code.
The system is installed at 39"from the ground surface, slightly deeper than the allowed 36". There did
not appear to be a compact restrictive horizon or water table within 36"of the bottom of the trench.
Based on the soils observed and reported the system is installed partially in excessively gravelly coarse
soils that would require additional treatment. The existing conventional drainfield would not meet
current code. Assessor records indicate that the site was developed in the mid 70's when septic permits
were required.
Therefore any application for a building containing plumbing or replacement of the existing mobile
home will require replacement of the system with a conforming onsite sewage system. Use of the
existing residence is approved.
