Jefferson County TCC Timber House, Quilcene Minutes, March 6, 2007 Attendance: Voting members: Anna Matsche, Bob Huelsdonk, Linda Tudor, Carol Fletcher Excused: Kathleen Emmerson Others: Hattie Dixon, Diane Schostak, Sally Brown, Debbie Kronk, Joy Baisch, John Austin, Frances Rawski, Eric Swangstu, Debi Bainbridge, John Fischbach Minutes from October 6, 2006 approved Committee Members • Carol Fletcher resigned (demands on personal time)-will be available as proxy • Frances Rawski and Debi Bainbridge were approved by committee to fill two Port Hadlock positions. o ACTION: Frances and Debi must each submit letter to County, attention J. Fischbach, requesting to be on Jefferson County TCC • Two positions for Port Ludlow are open. Members of TCC do not have to be Chamber member; should be interested in tourism in Jefferson County. o ACTION: Group (including non-voting members) will contact Port Ludlow person(s) who may be interested in attending. If person(s) interested, they should submit letter to John F. as indicated above. By-Laws • Five (5) signatures accepting the 4/16/2004 by-laws were obtained at meeting. • Still need signature from Kathleen Emmerson. Have signature on file for Kevin Zellmer (past member in good standing at time of by-law acceptance) o ACTION: By-law correction: Article VI, Section 5 should read "With regards to voting and proxy voting, refer to Article II, Representation, Section 3." • There are no "terms" for this committee per by-laws Budget • TCC and County budgets reviewed and accepted. o ACTION: Full county lodging tax budget, under "expenses" remove "TCC" preceeding Quilcene, Port Hadlock, Port Ludlow, West End, Gateway VIC. John F. to follow up. o ACTION: 2007 TCC budget to show clearly which funds are committed and which are available for allocation. Marketing • Ads placed in Washington State Visitors Guide and Budget Travel (March) shown. • E. Jefferson County Adventure Map and Rainforest Maps shown _ ,. Gateway VIC status • Update by John F. also presented to LTAC on 3/1. Teal Lake Road and Highway1041ocation still under negotiation. Consideration. and costs for leaving the VIC where it is being discussed at county level. Move will not happen soon. Visitor Count o ACTION: Diane S. to make recommendation at Joint Marketing for a uniform way of counting visitors at VICs o ACTION: Diane S. to review adding E. Quilcene VIC to monthly stats for JM. Website • www.VisitOlvmpicPeninsula com is Jefferson County website. Content is incomplete and at times inaccurate. o ACTION: Committee formed to review website for next steps. Bob H. (chair), Sally Brown, Joy Baisch, Frances Rawski, Debbie Kronk and Debi Bainbridge. o Web meeting on April 3~d at Port Hadlock Inn. o ACTION: Base information and some web guidelines to be sent to committee by Hattie. • www.VisitOlympicPeninsula ora (note: .org, not .com) is owned by Clallam County tourism and will be advertised extensively this summer in Seattle area. o ACTION: Diane will post a Jefferson County link on their site and Jefferson County will post link to Clallam. Trade agreed on by committee-will build both sites. Photo Library • ACTION: Hattie will send photo guidelines to committee so that Jefferson County can start a photo library for non-profit and media usage. NEXT MEETING: April lOt'', Tuesday, 10 am at Port Hadlock Inn • Recommendation to have monthly meetings for a short time before going to quarterly meetings. Potential Agenda items for April • Measurement of tourism success • Web Committee update Consent Agenda Commissioners Office JEFFERSON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST TO: Board of County Commissioners DATE: June 11, 2007 SUBJECT: Advisory Board Resignation; Jefferson County Tourism Coordinating Council; Carol Fletcher STATEMENT OF ISSUE: According to the Tourism Coordinating Council meeting minutes of March 6, 2007 Carol Fletcher has resigned as a member. ANALYSIS: Mr. Fletcher was first appointed to serve on the Council on February 23, 2004. FISCAL IMPACT: None.
