should be specific in nature rather than general.
Audit process -John Fischbach: there are audit provisions from the state; the
Commissioners do not do audits. Each agency provides reports to the State.
ACTION: John F. will check standards and see that they are followed.
Gateway Center
• John F. reported there appears to be no problem with renewing lease
arrangements for the Gateway Center and there may be a 99 -year
lease with Pope Resources.
• Planned improvements of $115,000 to the Gateway Center were

TCC Minutes 11/4/07, Page 2
• "Peninsula Lifestyle" Magazine has been renamed "Northwest"
Financials:
• Hotel/Motel tax is up for October over last year, but safes tax for
October is down.
• Linda Tudor shared a draft of a letter to the Commissioners re: 2008
TCC Budget to support TCC's request for the extra $20,000.
o To investigate studying tourism originating from Kitsap County.
o Spend more of the budget on promotion and not as much on
operations.
• Linda also stated that she thinks Clallam County and Port Townsend
should be contributing to the Gateway Visitor Center. John F. said that
with the $200,000 in capital improvements, they will get the Center. to
look like a visitor's center and then approach other organizations for
support.
o Joy felt that with the Bridge closing in 2009 that it would be
better to market the Peninsula as a whole rather than targeting
Kitsap.
• ACTION: Linda will incorporate the request for $20,000 into the budget
to present on November 20 at the LTAC meeting.
New Business
o TCC Coordinating Position: Joy moved to go with the marketin
as stated, to continue the relationship with OPVB, and to hire Kitti deLong.
Kathy seconded. Vote passed unanimously.
o BC Women's Show: Linda submitted a written report:
o Younger women didn't know how to get to the Peninsula, nor how
to get around once they were here.
o The show was held the weekend the Canadian Dollar went from
$.95 to $1.04. Linda recommended that hotels and wineries get
together and create some packages for Canadians.
o OPVB recently joined Tourism Victoria Visitor's Center.
Next Meeting: January 8, 2008, with place not set.
ACTION: Kathy will check their calendar to see if a meeting room is available at
Port Ludlow.
