Jefferson County will notify the appropriate postmaster, fire district, and emergency services of your new
address. We will provide you with a new fire plate and you will be required to install it on your property
once the address is assigned.

by the owner/agent with respect to this application packet may result in making any issued permit null and void.

entry to Jefferson County and its employees, representatives or agents for the sole purpose of application review and

RE: Parcel 977L0042L, case #: ADR19-00013, change of address
Mr. Jackson & Ms. Goodsett:
The addressing process, initiated by your neighbor at parcel 002244007, ADR19-00002, is complete. As
previously discussed, in order to accommodate a new address on your road as requested in ADR19-
00002, I realized that we needed to change your current address. I created a new case, ADR19-00013
in order to document this change of address. As a result, I have changed your address from 54
Discovery Crest Place to 60 Discovery Crest Place. I have enclosed your new address plates along with
proper installation instructions. To assure prompt emergency response, mount the plate/s in
accordance with the instructions given, and remove any old fire plates in order to facilitate proper
wayfind ing for emergency services.
The Department of Community Development notifies the US Postal Service, Fire Districts, 911
Emergency Communications and major utilities, as well as other agencies, of your address and road
name change. However, you must notify personal and business contacts of the change of address.
With regards to updating the incorrect road name type on your street sign, I did some research and
discovered that your road is a private road. Per JCC L2.20.720 of the Jefferson County Code, "[t]he
property owners adjoining a private road shall be responsible for maintenance of the private road
name signs. Property owners may request that the county replace lost, damaged, or destroyed signs at
the property owners' expense." I spoke with the Jefferson County Public Works shop regarding the
issue and they would be more than happy to discuss the matter with you; the Public Works shop can
be reached at 360.385.0890. As an alternative, you may create and install your own sign.
