Subject:Public comment against re-zone of 240 Sand Road
CAUTION: This email originated from outside your organization. Exercise caution when opening attachments or clicking

Dear Mr Peterson,
I am submitting this written public comment in opposition to the requested re-zone of
240 Sand Road (Wilke Re-Zone).
My wife, Sharon, and I are neighbors of 240 Sand Road. We live at 393 Blossom Lane,
just down the Larry Scott Trail from Sand Road.
I am familiar with the application's supporting documentation submitted by the
owners' consultants MacLearnsberry Consultants dated March 1, 2019, with the
Department of Community Development (DCD) staff report dated September 4, 2019,
and with other public comments submitted by neighbors and other Jefferson County
citizens.
I urge that this re-zone application be denied in order to maintain and protect the
integrity of Jefferson County's zoning.
In reading both the MacLearnsberry Consultants submission and the DCD staff report,
I see no convincing fact-based argument by either the consultants nor by Jefferson
County professional staff in favor of granting an exception to the zoning now in place.
There is just the owners' wish to sub-divide. There is no evidence that the requested
RR5 zoning of this land would be in any way more appropriate to Jefferson County's
public good than is the current RR10 zoning. Nor is there any reason to believe that the
current RR10 zoning, which was in effect when the owners purchased the land, was or
is in any way improper, inappropriate, or unfair.
I urge denial of the re-zone application.
Sincerely yours,
Mark Dembro
