per Quarter; Jefferson County Sheriff; Hoh Indian Tribe
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
AGREEMENT,Amendment No. 1 re: West Jefferson County Law Enforcement Services; Extension of
Time Period; In the Amount of$50,000 per Quarter; Jefferson County Sheriff; Hoh Indian Tribe
ANALYSIS:
The County entered into a service agreement in 2016 to provide law enforcement services to the Hoh Tribe.
Both parties wish to amend the agreement to: 1) Extend the term until April 30, 2020; 2) The Hoh Tribe will
pay the County$50,000 per quarter; and 3) All other provisions of the original service agreement will remain
in effect.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Revenue of$50,000 per Quarter.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Commissioners are being asked to approve the amendment with the Hoh Tribe.

Addendum to
To Amended and Restated Service Agreement
Between Jefferson County and the Hoh Indian Tribe
For Law Enforcement Services
The Hoh Indian Tribe (Tribe) and Jefferson County (County) in consideration of
the mutual promises made herein agree as follows:
Recitals
The parties have a services agreement dated September 2016 under which the County
agreed to provide law enforcement services to the Tribe and the Tribe agreed to pay the
County for those services.
The parties intend this addendum to amend a specific provision of the existing Service
Agreement as identified herein while leaving the remainder of the Service Agreement in
full force and effect.
Amendments
The parties agree to the following amendments to the Contract:
1. Section 1.1 of the Service Agreement is amended to extend the term of the
Service Agreement starting November 4, 2019 until April 30, 2020.
2. The Tribe will pay the County $50,000 per quarter for the services provided
during the extended term.
3. The parties further agree that all other provisions of the Service Agreement not
modified herein remain in effect.
General Provisions
1. Governing Law: This Addendum shall be governed by and construed in accordance
with the laws of the State of Washington.
2. Effective Date: The terms of this addendum are effective as of November 4, 2019
regardless of the date on which the agreement is formally executed by the parties.
3. Authority to Execute: The parties acknowledge and warrant that the individual whose
signature appears below has the authority to execute this agreement on his or her behalf
and/or all approvals and permissions required by their organization have been obtained
and the person is authorized to execute this agreement on its behalf.
