Jefferson County Board of Commissioners
Special Meeting — Friday, October 25, 2019, 6:00 p.m.
Hoh Tribal Center
2482 Lower Hoh Road, Forks, WA
CALL TO ORDER: Chair Kate Dean called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. in the presence of
Commissioner David Sullivan and Commissioner Greg Brotherton. The following Elected Officials,
Department Directors and County staff were also present: Sheriff Joe Nole, Assessor Jeff Chapman,
County Administrator Philip Morley, Public Works Director/County Engineer Monte Reinders, WSU
Extension Director Cliff Moore, Environmental Health Director Stuart Whitford, and Emergency
Management Director Willie Bence.
WELCOME and INTRODUCTIONS: Chair Dean welcomed members of the public and introduced
the Elected Officials, Department Directors and County staff.
EMERGENCY RESOLUTION: Public Works Director/County Engineer Monte Reinders discussed
the damage to the Upper Hoh Road. Commissioner Brotherton moved to approve RESOLUTION NO.
55-19 re: Declaring a State of Emergency Damage to County Roads. Commissioner Sullivan seconded
the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
QUICK SNAPSHOTS: Each Elected Official reviewed the functions of their department.
DISCUSSION with COUNTY OFFICIALS: The Elected Officials, Department Directors and County
staff answered questions posed by members of the public in attendance.
WRAP UP and THANKS: Chair Dean thanked everyone for attending the Community Outreach
meeting.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: Commissioner Greg Brotherton moved to adjourn the meeting at
8:13 p.M.„until the next regular meeting or special meeting as properly noticed. Commissioner Sullivan
seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
