Re: Comments regarding Title 18 of Jefferson County Code

Outdoor shooting ranges in Jefferson County should be maintained as small scale recreational or tourist
ranges as currently identified under Title 18.20. Therefore, the following activities should not be
allowed as they are not recreational or tourist in nature.
• No military or paramilitary training
• No night shooting (hours should be limited to Sam to 5pm)
• No aircraft activity
• No use of machine guns, assault rifles, or rocket launchers
"Recreational uses" means those activities of a voluntary and leisure time nature that aid in promoting
entertainment, pleasure, play, relaxation, or instruction.
"Tourist uses" means used by persons traveling for pleasure or culture.
