As a gun owner and a gun advocate, I am against unregulated gun ranges.
Gun ranges need to be fully enclosed and limited to noise emissions of no more than 35 db otherwise they destroy the tranquility
of any neighborhood they occupy. Witness the Sportsman's Club on Jacob Miller rd. It's a war zone for Arcadia and neighborhood
residents 8 hrs/ day.
in addition, it is unthinkable that Jefferson County Commissioners would allow private mercenary/military/police training facilities
within county boundaries.
If gun ranges are to be good neighbors they must be limited in scope to sports firearms only and be carefully regulated to protect
the neighborhood.
We, in outer Jefferson County value our tranquility as much as anyone, and have as much right to quiet and peace as anyone.
