Share air time and encourage all members to participate DRAFT MINUTES The September 11, 2019 meeting of the Empowered Teens Coalition was held at the Jefferson County Library, Shold Room from 3:30 to 4:30 pm. PURPOSE OF THE MEETING: Report: Success of summer events, and report upcoming events. Discussion: Survey results, how to collect enough Community Surveys, recruitment. ACTION: Give away the PTFF passes. Next meeting DBHR Systems Manager, Martha Williams will be in attendance so please make every effort to attend. Motions carried. 3:35 Denise Report: ~Explained CPWI and Ciela’s role as student assistance professional ~New member, Micah Knox, introduced himself. ~Report on success of DIDEE; report on successful newspaper article; report on upcoming Guiding Good Choices, Drug Take Back event, coalition coordinators accepted to the state’s first cohort of ACE’s Resilience Leadership Development Program hosted by DOH, Essentials for Childhood, and Clallam County’s Collaborative Learning Academy – provides tools to engage in organizational change related to becoming trauma-informed. Coalition coordinators invited to Science and Sips. ~The number of Community Surveys we need this year has doubled. Greg offered to send link to all-county employees; Micah agreed to let us have a table at Church United; Chris will send link to library staff and put on library website; Lindsay and Denise are going to collect surveys at the Food Banks (dates TBD); maybe a table at JC Library is a good idea 4:15 All Discussion: Discussion of the 8th and 10th grade HYS Survey results: vaping numbers, marijuana and survey questions, youth on the coalition, establishing rapport with youth that communicates respect for their EMPOWERED TEENS COALITION Mission : Youth, families, and community working together to prevent underage substance use and abuse.
