SUBJECT: West Jefferson County Project Update:
Local Jobs in Research, Restoration, and Invasive Species Prevention
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
An update on work in the West County in 2019, including the coastal Pulling Together in Restoration
Project, the Hoh River Riparian Restoration Project, Goodman Creek Reed Canarygrass Control Project,
Queets Tansy and Scotch Broom Project, Upper Quinault Invasives Project, Scotch Broom Biochar
Pyrolysis and Ecological Impact Study projects. Other projects under development include application of
environmental DNA for aquatic species, and an assessment of glacial retreat, and impacts to the Hoh River.
