RE: 5812 Beaver Valley Road, Chimacum Geotech Waiver Request — Approval
Recommendation
Doug Blessington and Leigh Senna applied for a geotech waiver during the course of a building
permit and septic permit application. They plan to install a new septic system and construct a
new single-family residence. Their property is mapped as a moderate landslide and seismic
hazard. I have reviewed the waiver request submitted by Doug Blessington and Leigh Senna,
available map and data, and completed the attached geohazard checklist. They will implement
applicable best management practices during construction. The clearing and grading will be
limited to the building site and is located on an old existing logging road with a flat area. The
slope located in the building area is flat. The entire parcel has a slope of 19.85 % but is
concentrated in areas outside of the building site and proposed septic system. Based on our
available data, the site, proposed development, and analysis from the geohazard checklist I find
that the standards for a geotechnical report waiver, under Jefferson County Code 18.22.370, have
been satisfied.
