In the Matter of Adopting a Corrected Salary
Schedule for the FLSA and Union Exempt RESOLUTION NO 73-19
Management and Professional Employees for
2020
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners set the salaries of the FLSA and Union
exempt management and professional positions of Jefferson County by passage of Resolution
No. 71-19; and
WHEREAS, it is noted that a correction to the salary schedule is needed to reflect
the correct percentage increase for certain hourly exempt positions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners
that the annual salaries of the FLSA and Union exempt management and professional employees
of the County shall be set at the rates established in the corrected Exempt Wage Table as shown
in ATTACHMENT A.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the adjustments will be effective January 1,
2020.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners reserve
the right to make adjustments to this matrix during the budget year as they feel are justified and
necessary.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, this Resolution repeals and replaces the Exempt
Wage Table attached to Resolution No. 71-19. /n

SUBJECT: RESOLUTION re: Adopting a Corrected Salary Schedule for the FLSA and Union Exempt
Management and Professional Employees for 2020
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
On December 9, 2019, the Board approved Resolution No. 71-19 adopting a salary schedule for the FLSA and
Union Exempt Management and Professional Employees for 2020. The wage table attached to that resolution
needs to be amended to reflect the correct percentage increase for certain hourly exempt positions.
ANALYSIS:
Last week, the Board adopted Resolution No. 71-19 providing for a General Wage Adjustment of 1.75% for all
FLSA and Union Exempt Positions and a Total Compensation Study Equity Adjustment of 3.3% increase for
certain hourly non-union positions. After adoption of Resolution No. 71-19, an error in a formula in the wage
table was discovered which needs to be changed to reflect the correct percentage increase for certain hourly
exempt positions.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve and sign the resolution correcting the percentage increase for certain hourly exempt positions and
replacing the wage table in Resolution No. 71-19.
