Distribution: FORM REV 64 0058 (5/25/2017) * Assessor * Petitioner * BOE File ORDER OF THE JEFFERSON COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION Victoria Aid Property Company LLC Appeal No.: BOE 18-59-C Parcel No.: 001 034 004 Issue: Under appeal is a 47 bed assisted living center located at 491 Discovery Road in Port Townsend. The appellant estimates the value to be $2,750,000 ($501,629 for the land and $2,248,371 for the improvements). The Assessor's valuation of the property as of January 1, 2018 is $4,483,240 ($501,629 for the land and $3,981,611 for the improvements). Appellant c& Assessor's Arguments and Evidence: The original hearing was not concluded due to the Assessor not receiving supplemental information to be provided by the appellant. It was disclosed during the abbreviated hearing that the LLC owning the property bought it as part of a package of properties, and the corporation allocated a percentage of the price of the whole package to the property under appeal. Subsequent to the hearing, the appellant provided the supplemental information to the Assessor, and he recommended to reduce the assessed valuation to $3,156,036 which was acceptable to the appellant. Decision: As a result of the recommendation discussed above, the Board of Equalization overrules the original assessment and determined the fair market value to be $3,156,036 ($501,629 for the land and $2,654,407 for the improvements).
