HomeMy WebLinkAbout012120_ra02 Department of Public Works O Regular Agenda Page 1 of 1 Jefferson County Board of Commissioners Agenda Request To: Board of Commissioners Philip Morley, County Administrator From: Monte Reinders, Public Works Director/County Engineer Agenda Date: January 21, 2020 Subject: Bid Opening, Center Road MP 14.61 to 15.01 Resurface and Restore County Project No. 180120500, CRAB Project No. 1618-02 Statement of Issue: Sealed bid opening at 10:15 A.M. or shortly thereafter in the Jefferson County Commissioners Chambers for the Center Road MP 14.61 to 15.01 Resurface and Restore Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's: This project will reconstruct Center Road between the Little Quilcene River bridge and US101. The project will remove all the existing asphalt and replace crushed base and new asphalt. The project will correct pavement roughness and higher maintenance required due to failure of the existing pavement. The existing asphalt sidewalk along this section of Center Road will also be replaced. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: The Engineer's Estimate for the reconstruction of Center Road is $605,388.50. Improvements to Center Road will be funded at 90% by the County Roads Administration Board with matching funds provided by County Arterial Preservation Program (CAPP) funds. The sidewalk replacement portion of the project will be funded by $65,000 from the Public Infrastructure Fund (PIF). Recommendation: The Board is requested to witness the public bid opening and direct Public Works to review the bids and make a recommendation for award at a later date. Department Contact: Bruce D.
