HomeMy WebLinkAboutRe Follow-up to site visit on April 19th 2018Hi Rick,
I do not have any questions and I do not need any clarification on these items. I am planning on replanting according to my plan but have not done the planting as of yet. I will do
this as soon as I am able.
Best Regards,
Tim Wilkins

Subject: Follow-up to site visit on April 19th, 2018
Hi Tim,
I write to follow-up on our site visit to your Marrowstone Island property, which is the subject of an Ecology enforcement action (Agreed Order #13100). The purpose of the visit was
to view the area where the roadway was removed and inspect the restoration plantings. Both of these elements are required by the Order and the approved restoration plan (attached).
Roadway:
The roadway was sufficiently removed and that area has been established at an elevation that should allow wetland hydrology to exist. Thank you for your efforts in this regard.
Plantings:
Unfortunately, no planting in the wetland, former roadway, or disturbed wetland buffer has occurred. The site is revegetating naturally, but primarily with herbaceous species, at a
slow pace, and establishing vegetation includes some non-native species (thistle, foxglove). Failure to install woody vegetation in this restoration effort results in temporal loss
of wetland functions since the site was originally a forested wetland.
As a result of the failure to complete the restoration plantings required by the Order, Ecology still considers this violation to be unresolved. Once the plantings are installed, we
can begin the required period of monitoring and maintenance, and move toward resolution of this matter.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need clarification on any of these items.
