Subject: Bid Award; Supply of Aggregate for Bituminous Surface Treatment on
County Roads in Calendar Years 2020 Et 2021. Project No. 180 20390.
Statement of Issue:
Public Works (PW) staff has completed checking the bids opened on January 27, 2020 for the
above material supply contract. PW finds it to be in the County's best interest to award this
Purchase a Sale Agreement to Bruch and Bruch Construction, Inc. of Port Angeles, WA for the
amounts specified in their bid proposal.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's ft Con's:
This product is used in the County's pavement preservation program, and this Bid Award is
consistent with the County's goal of prioritizing maintenance of existing roadway
infrastructure.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis:
Purchase of this material is accounted for in the Road Operations budgets for calendar years
2020 and 2021. The estimated contract amount over the two (2) year period is $202,917.00
plus Washington State Sales Tax, however, there is no guaranteed minimum order for this
contract.
Recommendation:
The Board is asked to award this bid by signing the attached Memorandum and returning it to
Public Works for further processing prior to final execution of the Agreement by the Board.

Calendar Years 2020&2021; County Project No. 180 20390.
• A Call for Bids was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on January 8, 2020.
• Due notice of the Call for Bids was given and published as required by law.
• Four (4) sealed bids were received and publicly opened in the Commissioners Chambers on
Monday,January 27, 2020.
• The Public Works Department has completed checking all of the bids and verifying the
qualifications of all of the bidders.
• The Bid Tabulations are attached for your reference.
The Public Works Department recommends that this supply contract be awarded to the lowest responsive
bidder:
Bruch and Bruch Construction, Inc. of Port Angeles, Washington for the unit prices included in the
attached Bid Tabulation, which amount to an estimated contract amount of$202,917.00.
