3. Describe the extraction equipment you will use and how it will be compliant with
requirements listed in WAC 314-55-104:
rltechanical separation methods use phys'ica'l action to remove the trichomes from the
p1ant, such as sieving through a screen by hand or in motorized tumblers. The resu'lting
powder, referred to as "kief", is compressed with the aid of heat into blocks of
hashish. rce-water.separat'ion is another mechanical method of isolating trichomes.
Chemical separat'ion methods general'ly use a solvent such as ethano'l or hexane to
d'issolve the lipophilic desirable resin. Remaining plant materials are filtered out of
the solution and sent to the compost. The solvent is then evaporated,'leaving behind
the desirab'le res'ins, cal'l ed honey oi1, "hash o'i'l ", or just "oi1". xoney oi'l still
contains waxes and essential oils and can be further purified by vacuum distillation toyield "red oil". The product of chemical separations is more commonly referred to as
"honey oil." This oil is not rea'l1y hashish, as the'latter name covers trichomes that
are extracted by sieving. rh'is leaves most of the glands intact. xash oil is a f"luid asthe containing trichomes have been broken
