RE: Professional Services Agreement Amendment—LNS Engineering,
Inc.
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
The Professional Services Agreement Amendment will extend the scope and cost of the
original agreement with LNS Engineering, Inc. to include engineering services through the
construction phase of the Courthouse boiler replacement project with a total cost not to exceed
$33,000.
ANALYSIS:
Entering into the Agreement will provide engineering services during the replacement of the
Courthouse boiler.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost will be funded out of the Construction& Renovation approved 2020 budget.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve and sign the Professional Services Agreement Amendment with LNS Engineering
Services, Inc..

AMENDMENT 1
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
By and Between
JEFFERSON COUNTY AND LNS Engineering, Inc.
Purpose:The purpose of this amendment is expand the scope of services, ontract term and
increase the total payment threshold.
Parties:This Agreement is between Jefferson County,herein referred to as"the County", and
LNS Engineering,Inc.hereinafter referred to as"the Consultant".
1. On May 7, 2018 the County entered into an agreement with the Consultant to perform
design services,permit drawings and bidding specifications for replacing the Courthouse
boiler.
2. This amendment increases the scope of work as identified on Exhibit"A"attached
hereto.
3. Payment for the work provided by the Consultant shall be made as provided on Exhibit
"A",provided that the total amount of payment to the Consultant shall not exceed
$33,000 without express written modification of the agreement signed by the County.
4. All other provisions of the Agreement shall remain in effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF,the parties have caused this Amendment to be executed this 10th
day of February,20 20.

Scope of Work
LNS Engineering, Inc.
*Update project plans and specifications 16 hrs
*Attend pre-bid walkthrough 5 hrs
*Attend Pre-Construction Review Meeting w/Contractor 5 hrs
*Review of product submittals and shop drawings 8 hrs
*Attend construction meetings from June 1-August 30, 2020 and issue minutes
of meetings (meeting participation dates determined by the County) 60 hrs
*One field visit for review of boiler startup and preparation of a mechanical
punch list, one final visit for punch list review 12 hrs
*Prepare record drawings based on contractor redline markups 4 hrs
4 hrs CAD
Engineering $150/hr
CAD Services $ 75/hr
