From the Official County Road Log: )
WHEREAS,the official County Road Log lists Old Owl Creek Road intersecting Upper Hoh Road at
milepost 9.85; and
WHEREAS, Old Owl Creek Road is an unopened road remnant that was abandoned when a bridge
crossing the Hoh River was removed in 1966;and
WHEREAS, Old Owl Creek Rd is overgrown, is not maintained and does not provide for area
circulation for the traveling public;and
WHEREAS,it is in the best interest of the County to update the official Road Log to maintain accurate
records and to avoid confusion in the future; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 47.48 R.C.W. authorizes closure of roads;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that Old Owl Creek Road,milepost 0.00 to 0.04,is removed
from the Official County Road Log.

Subject: A Resolution to Update the Official County Road Log for
Old Owl Creek Road, County Road #136009
Statement of Issue:
The Board is asked to sign a resolution to update the Official County Road Log by removing
Old Owl Creek Road. This road was abandoned when a bridge at this location was removed in
1966. Old Owl Creek Road is not maintained or open. This action does not vacate any right of
way which may exist but simply updates the Road Log to reflect what is open and maintained
by the county.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's Et Con's:
Making corrections to keep the Official County Road Log current helps to avoid maintenance
confusion.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis:
The motor vehicle fuel tax distribution formula is based in part on the miles of roads listed in
the Official County Road Log, it is important to keep the Road Log accurate and up to date.
Recommendation:
Department of Public Works recommends that the Board approve updating the Official County
Road Log by signing the attached Resolution to remove Old Owl Creek Rd.
