RE: 420 Discovery Ridge Road, Port Townsend Geotech Waiver Request — Approval
Recommendation
Mr. Jennings applied for a geotech waiver during the course of a building permit application. Mr.
Jennings plans to construct a single-family home. Mr. Jennings' property is mapped as a slight
landslide hazard area. I have reviewed Mr. Jennings' waiver request, available map and data, and
completed the attached geohazard checklist. Mr. Jennings will implement applicable best
management practices during construction. Mr. Jennings' building site is 18% slope and is
located 54 feet from the edge of the slope. Based on our available data, Mr. Jennings' site,
proposed development, and analysis from the geohazard checklist I find that the standards for a
geotechnical report waiver, under Jefferson County Code 18.22.370, have been satisfied.
