Consent Agenda
JEFFERSON COUNTY
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
CONSENT AGENDA REQUEST
TO: Jefferson County Board of Commissioners
THROUGH: Philip Morley, County Administrator
FROM: Stacie Prada, Treasurer
DATE: April 27, 2020
SUBJECT: RESOLUTION: In the Matter of Finding and determination to Declare Certain
Personal Property as Surplus And Authorize Disposal
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Certain Assets belonging to Fleet Services, Public Works and Animal Services
have been identified as no longer needed, are not repairable, obsolete or outdated and are to be
disposed of.
ANALYSIS: Among the items is a vehicle that was damaged during a pursuit on 01/01/2020. The
evader's insurance company (Geico) has decided to total the vehicle and pay off its value. The insurance
company wants ownership of the vehicle once they disburse funds, and we need to surplus the vehicle
and release the title to them. Among all remaining items, they have little value and will be offered to
other departments, agencies and non -profits. Failing to dispose of these items to the above stated
organizations, they should be authorized for disposal. The overall value of each item is less than
$2,500.00 and requires no public notice.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize disposal options in resolution.
