HomeMy WebLinkAboutM040720ON C'O N RISK MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE April 7, 2020 -10:30 a.m. MEETING MINUTES MEMBERS: Philip Morley, County Administrator/Risk Manager Erin Lundgren, Clerk of the Board/Risk Coordinator (Chair) Ruth Gordon, Superior Court Clerk Mark McCauley, Central Services Director Vicki Kirkpatrick, Public Health Director Willie Bence, Emergency Management Director/Safety Officer LEGAL COUNSEL: Philip Hunsucker, Chief Civil Deputy Prosecuting Attorney SECRETARY: Leslie Locke, Executive Assistant/Claims Coordinator Chair Erin Lundgren called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m. Members Philip Morley, Vicki Kirkpatrick and Mark McCauley and Legal Counsel Philip Hunsucker participated in the meeting remotely. Members Willie Bence and Ruth Gordon were absent. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Member Morley moved to approve the regular meeting minutes of March 3, 2020 as presented. Member McCauley seconded the motion. The motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION An Executive Session was scheduled from 10:35 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Chair Lundgren announced that the Executive Session will be held from 10:35 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the County Administrator, Chief Civil Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Public Health Director, Central Services Director, Clerk of the Board/Risk Coordinator and Executive Assistant/Claims Coordinator regarding Attorney -Client Privilege, Potential Litigation under exemption RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) as outlined in the Open Public Meetings Act. The Committee concluded the Executive Session and resumed the regular meeting at 10:40 a.m. CLAIM FOR DAMAGES DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE DECISION Claim No.: #C-03-20 Claimant: Brandon Tribble Damages: $2,299.00 Allegation: Loss of Personal Property The Committee reviewed the details of this claim. The claimant alleges that his wallet, containing cash, and cell phone were lost during his arrest and transport to the Jefferson County jail. Risk Management Committee Meeting Minutes — April 7, 2020 Page: 2 The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office submitted a recommendation that the claimant be reimbursed for the contents of the wallet and cell phone. Member Morley moved to approve payment of the claim in the amount of $2,299.00. Member McCauley seconded the motion. The motion carried. The Executive Assistant/Claims Coordinator will prepare the necessary documents to process payment of this claim. Decision: Approved NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 10:44 a.m. until the next regular meeting or special meeting as properly noticed.
