STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
ADVISORY BOARD APPOINTMENT re: Jefferson County Rural Library District Board of Trustees;
Unexpired to Term to end April 2024; Ms. Joan Chapdelaine
ANALYSIS:
A letter nominating Ms. Joan Chapdelaine was received from Tamara Meredith, Jefferson County Library
Director, requesting she be reappointed to the Jefferson County Rural Library District Advisory Board.
The Jefferson County Library Board of Trustees considered applicants for an open position left vacant upon
the resignation of Trustee Tom Hagen in early July. After consideration of the candidates,the Trustees would
like to request the appointment of Joan Chapdelaine to complete former Trustee Tom Hagen's remaining term,
which expires April 2024.
Joan has over 19 years of experience as a library board member in Pennsylvania, including a year as Board
President. She has also been a volunteer at the Jefferson County Library since her relocation here in early
2019. Her knowledge of public libraries and fundraising, as well as commitment to board service, will make
her an excellent addition to our library's Board of Trustees.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve ADVISORY BOARD APPOINTMENT re: Jefferson County Rural Library District Board of
Trustees; Unexpired to Term to end April 2024; Ms. Joan Chapdelaine
