STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Planning Commission District 2 appointment of Mr. LD Richert to replace the resigning Mr. Mike
Miller
ANALYSIS
Notice was received from Planning Commission District 2 representative, Mr. Miller, that he will be
moving out of state with his family and will be unable to continue to serve on the Planning
Commission as the District 2 representative. This position was advertised in the newspaper of record,
Peninsula Daily News as well as posted on the Jefferson County website. We received one
application during the advertisement period from Mr. LD Richert, whose application is attached.
Department interview of the sole applicant showed a familiarity and strong support of county land use
and environmental processes and an awareness of the County's regulatory reform resolution. Mr.
Richert is being recommended for replacement of the resigning Mr. Miller for a term that expires
March 2024.
FISCAL IMPACT/COST-BENEFIT ANALYSIS: N/A
RECOMMENDATION:
Appoint Mr. LD Richert to the Planning Commission to serve as the District 2 representative until
March 2024 at which time a replacement or reappointment can occur.
