HomeMy WebLinkAbout100520_ca01 Department of Public Works O Consent Agenda Page 1of1 Jefferson County Board of Commissioners Agenda Request To: Board of Commissioners Philip Morley, County Administrator From: Monte Reinders, PE, Public Works Director/County Engineer ineer Agenda Date: October 05, 2020 Subject: Schedule a Public Hearing for the proposed 2021-2026 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) October 26, 2020 Statement of Issue: Schedule a public hearing for Monday, October 26, 2020, 10:30 am for the purpose of receiving public testimony concerning adoption of the draft 2021-2026 Jefferson County Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Each county, by RCW 36.81.121 legislative authority, is required to hold a public hearing prior to adoption of an annual 6-year TIP. The proposed 6-year TIP will be available for public review through the Commissioners' office, Public Works office and on the County website at the same time of the first published Notice of Public Hearing. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pros Et Cons: The attached Notice of Public Hearing will appear twice in the Peninsula Daily News. Fiscal Impact/Cost-Benefit Analysis: The TIP is a planning document. Fiscal impact and constraints of Public Works capital projects are reviewed through the adoption of the Annual Construction Program and department budget process. Recommendation: After the briefing and development of the final draft TIP, authorize by motion to set the public hearing date for October 26 and for the Chair to sign the Notice of Public Hearing. Return the Notice to Public Works for further processing into the publication of record. "Each county shall perpetually have available advanced plans looking to the future for not less than six years as a guide in carrying out a coordinated transportation program, RCW 36.81.121(1)." Written public comment on the program will be received up and until the public hearing mailed to Jefferson County Commissioners' Office, PO Box 1220, Port Townsend, WA 98368 or emailed to ieffbocc@.coJe11erson.wa.us. The printed program is available for viewing at the Jefferson County Public Works office, 623 Sheridan Street, Port Townsend, open 8:OOAM to 5:OOPM, the Commissioners' office, 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, open 8:30AM to 4:30PM, and on the county website at www.co.jefferson.wa.us/444/6-Yr-TIP Jefferson County ensures full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by prohibiting discrimination against any person on the basis of race, color, sex or national origin in the provision of benefits & services resulting from its federally assisted programs & activities.
