HomeMy WebLinkAboutM090120igON C'p� N RISK MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE September 1, 2020 - 10:30 a.m. MEETING MINUTES MEMBERS: Philip Morley, County Administrator/Risk Manager Erin Lundgren, Clerk of the Board/Risk Coordinator (Chair) Ruth Gordon, Superior Court Clerk Mark McCauley, Central Services Director Vicki Kirkpatrick, Public Health Director Willie Bence, Emergency Management Director/Safety Officer LEGAL COUNSEL: Philip Hunsucker, Chief Civil Deputy Prosecuting Attorney SECRETARY: Leslie Locke, Executive Assistant/Claims Coordinator Chair Erin Lundgren called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m. Members Vicki Kirkpatrick, Mark McCauley and Willie Bence, and Legal Counsel Philip Hunsucker participated in the meeting remotely. Members Philip Morley and Ruth Gordon were absent. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Member McCauley moved to approve the regular meeting minutes of August 4, 2020 as presented. Member Kirkpatrick seconded the motion. The motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION An Executive Session was scheduled from 10:35 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. Chair Lundgren announced that the Executive Session will be held from 10:33 a.m. until 10:48 a.m. with the Chief Civil Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Public Health Director, Central Services Director, Emergency Management Director, Clerk of the Board/Risk Coordinator and Executive Assistant/Claims Administrator regarding Attorney -Client Privilege, Potential Litigation under exemption RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) as outlined in the Open Public Meetings Act. The Committee concluded the Executive Session and resumed the regular meeting at 10:42 a.m. CLAIM FOR DAMAGES DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE DECISION Claim No.: #C-08-20 Claimant: Jarrett Smith Damages: $1,083.57 Allegation: Vehicle Damage The Committee reviewed the details of this claim. The claimant alleges that his vehicle was damaged during roadside maintenance operations conducted by Jefferson County Public Works Road Department personnel. The Public Works Department submitted a recommendation to approve the claim. Member McCauley moved to approve claim #C-08-20. Member Kirkpatrick seconded the motion. The Executive Assistant/Claims Coordinator will prepare the necessary documents to process payment of this claim. Decision: Approved Claim No.: #C-09-20 Claimant: Frank Fletcher Damages: $892.25 Allegation: Vehicle Damage The Committee reviewed the details of this claim. The claimant alleges that his vehicle was damaged during road maintenance operations conducted by Jefferson County Public Works Road Department personnel. The Public Works Department submitted a recommendation to approve the claim. Member McCauley moved to approve claim #C-09-20. Member Kirkpatrick seconded the motion. The motion carried. The Executive Assistant/Claims Coordinator will prepare the necessary documents to process payment of this claim. Decision: Approved EXECUTIVE SESSION An Executive Session was scheduled from 10:55 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Chair Lundgren announced that the Executive Session will be held from 10:45 a.m. until 11:20 a.m. with the Chief Civil Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Public Health Director, Central Services Director, Emergency Management Director, Clerk of the Board/Risk Coordinator and Executive Assistant/Claims Administrator regarding Attorney -Client Privilege, Actual Litigation under exemption RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) as outlined in the Open Public Meetings Act. The Committee concluded the Executive Session and resumed the regular meeting at 11:17 a.m. No old business was discussed. No new business was discussed. OLD BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT Member Kirkpatrick moved to adjourn the meeting at 11:18 a.m. until the next regular meeting or special meeting as properly noticed.
