They just installed gutters on my house and it took a while but they do good work. Call us for final when you're ready. l'm comfortable your gutters will be installed. HiJeff, All of the work on the pavilion at Chimacum High School is completed with the exception of the gutters. We have the rain barrels installed and ready to accept the downspouts. Giraffe Gutters has said they will install the gutters, but to date has not gotten to them. l'm planning to hand over the pavilion to Chimacum High Schoolon Thursday, January 23rd at noon. l'm contacting you to ask if you can do the final inspection knowing the gutters will be installed. There's no point in installing the rain barrels without the benefit of water collection. I certainly don't expect there will be any issues with the construction, and fully believe it will pass inspection; however, until you do the inspection we won't know for sure. Given Giraffe Gutters slow response, I didn't want to wait for them to ask for the final inspection. lt would be very much appreciated if you're willing to give us the approval, knowing we will have the gutters installed. Again, thank you for your assistance throughout this process. Hi Jeff, Please see our engineers note immediately below regarding the use of rebar in the concrete slab at the Chimacum High School Pavilion vs. wire screen. We are asking you for your approval of the engineers revised design for this component of the structure. Morris has asked if it would be possible to use rebar in the concrete flooring of the pavilion vs. the wire mesh. He said something to the building inspectors and they said it would have to come from the engineer. I hate to bother you because you've been extremely helpful to us. 1 If you feel that rebar would be structurally sound, and are willing to redo that component of the flooring, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks as always for your consideration. Progress report: At this point we have the posts in the holes and ready for concrete. Unfortunately it looks like the engineer has a 15 lb. ground snow load that was used in the calculations. Jefferson county has a 25 lb. snow load for all areas except Brinnon and the West end of the County which have 30 lb. Please see attached design criteria. You are the representative for the project so I would ask that you get clarification from the engineer on the snow load design. Another item that needs to be addressed is the attachment of the trusses to the posts. There is a drawing attached to the file from Lowes truss co. but it does not address size or number of bolts through the truss to the posts or the nail size or patter of nails to the truss bearing blocks. They need to be addressed by the engineer per the letter attached to the file by Jim Fergeson of Lowes truss Co. The truss bracing needs to be addressed by the engineer. The Plan review cue is pretty backed up but I will move your permit along as soon as I hear back in writing from the engineer. Sally and Claudia pulled it up on your system and told me it was with you at this time. I realize I had just recently applied for the permit, but not ever having been through this process before I wasn't sure how it goes. Sally gave me your business card and suggested I send you an email regarding our project. Our Rotary Club is funding and building a 24 x 30 pavilion within the CHS garden, where horticulture classes are held. Currently, the teachers and students don't have a shelter in which to work and learn. The pavilion will provide that much needed protection and learning space. 1 I assume there's a waiting tist of applions. As we begin to acquire the materiaond line up the labor to help erect the structure, lfelt it would be prudent to get an estimate of when the permit might be reviewed and hopefully, approved.
