SUMMARY
Establish,monitor and supervise juvenile and/or adult offenders working on a work crew. Screen work
alternative applicants and assign offenders to specific jobs and/or community service sites.Establish and
maintain contact with local nonprofit organizations as means of creating community service sites for
offenders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
Supervises adult and/or juvenile offenders that are participating in a work crew environment or
community service work.
Maintain clear and concise records of the work performed.
Responsible for the custody and security of offender workers.
May determine whether an individual would be a candidate for work alternative programs.
Monitors progress and/or activities of the offenders participating in a work program.
Ensure the offenders are given proper credit for work performed.
Establish and maintain contact with social agencies and community organizations which may be able to
provide assistance with the rehabilitation of offenders.
May involve transporting offenders to work sites.
Report any violations to the Probation Administrator.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree(GED);or one to three months related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract,multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw
and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written,
oral,or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables
in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES,LICENSES,REGISTRATIONS
Valid Washington State Driver's License
OTHER KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of criminal behavior and the judicial system, law enforcement,and probation activities,
desirable.
Ability to use a typewriter,personal computer and software including word processing, spreadsheet and
database programs, calculator, and other office equipment standard to areas of assignment, desirable.
