SUMMARY
Provides a variety of medical care and treatments to patients in medical facility such as clinic,health
center, or public health agency by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
Performs complete physical examinations on males and females and provides health care within license
and practice guidelines.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and
health care needs. Performs lab services such as Hgb,BP,UCG, wet mounts,venipuncture.
Records physical finding same day as exam and formulates plan based on patient's medical needs.
Prescribes,recommends or administers medications or other forms of treatment. Completes referrals to
mental health or drug treatment, as well as financial referrals.
Refers patients to community Physicians for consultation, primary care or for specialized treatments.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Master's degree(M.A.)or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports,
and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers,
regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and
articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present
information to top management,public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic
equations, andpermutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency

distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation
techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data,establish facts,and draw valid conclusions. Ability to
interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal
with several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of ACCESS Database
software; EXPLORER Internet software;EXCEL Spreadsheet software and WORD Processing
software.
CERTIFICATES,LICENSES,REGISTRATIONS
Valid Washington State Driver's License
Washington State Board of Health License as Nurse Practitioner with prescription privileges.
Employees in this position,according to the Medicaid Administrative Match Steering Committee,
Washington State Association of Local Public Health Officers Questionnaire for Skilled Professional
Medical Personnel, meet all the requirements for the Medicaid Administrative claiming program.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must attend required training to keep license current, including required hours of pharmacology training.
Must update medical and clinical knowledge in self-directed ways and within directions from Health
Officer.Lab and care protocols will be followed and updated by staff.
On-going chart audits and patient care summaries will be reviewed by Nursing Director and Health
Officer.
