ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Troubleshoots and resolves computer hardware/software problems that are presented by customers. Installs, configures, and maintains computer hardware, software, and network communications equipment including, but not limited to, desktops, laptops, scanners, copiers, printers, system software, and application software. Provides limited application software support for all software programs supported by Information Services. Support includes technical administration of application systems security functions, installation of software releases from vendors, limited troubleshooting of vendor software problems, and coordination with County departments and vendors for technical matters. Provides training to customers in the use of computer hardware and software systems. Provides training to customers regarding their use of VOIP telephone system. Assists other staff members with complex projects. Maintains the fixed asset records. Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No supervisory responsibilities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate's Degree (AA) from two-year college or technical school in computer science or an appropriate field of study and four (4) years related experience with computers, software and network communications systems. Technical or college education that is directly related may be substituted for up to two (2) years of experience; or, the equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as ordinances, statutes, software documentation, and various computer programming languages. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to utilize variables in various programming languages to perform calculations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, Microsoft applications, Basic understanding of networks including LAN and WAN concepts. OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently often with frequent interruptions. Ability to perform complex, multi -step processing of data to provide final data products to customers. Knowledge of and experience with major PC operating systems, PC databases, and network concepts. Must have proven computer and network troubleshooting experience. Detailed technical skill in the use of at least one programming language CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Washington State Driver's License with a driving record free of serious or frequent violations. Must pass a thorough background investigation which includes being fingerprinted.
