HomeMy WebLinkAboutLTAC M100720S4,4'Sor �0 ti 1r,C rrroz°� ; Lodging Tax Advisory Committee Special Meeting Minutes October 7, 2020 —10:00 a.m. Jefferson County Commissioners Chambers 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA Members: Diana Smeland, Shelly Leavens, Larry McKeehan, Joe Alfano and Greg Brotherton Staff: County Administrator Philip Morley and Executive Assistant Leslie Locke Chair Greg Brotherton, and Members Shelly Leavens, Joe Alfano and Larry McKeehan participated in the meeting remotely. Chair Brotherton called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. Member Diana Smeland joined remotely shortly after the meeting began. Approval of Special Meeting Minutes: Member Leavens moved to approve the Special Meeting Minutes of July 15, 2020. Member McKeehan seconded the motion. The motion carried. Discussion and Possible Action: 2021 Request for Proposals (RFP): The Committee discussed the possibility of making strategic adjustments to the 2021 Request for Proposal (RFP) application packet in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Member Smeland moved to amend the proposal packet as discussed. Member Leavens seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. Discussion and Possible Action re: 2020 Grant Funding Awards and Recommendation for Possible Adjustments: Chair Brotherton reviewed the funding reductions agreed to by the 2020 grant recipients. After discussion, Member Leavens moved to accept the 2nd round of voluntary grant funding reductions as shown below. Member Smeland seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. Received an amended expense table on 3,500 5/19120. 69.400 Used for salaries. (If campgrounds are dosed through end of June) Our campgrounds are typically open from April 1 through October 30. Member McKeehan seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. Discussion and Possible Action re: Future Meeting Schedule: The Committee discussed possible future meeting dates. The following meeting dates were scheduled: 1) November 25, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. to finalize the 2021 RFP Application Packet; 2) January 20, 2021- at 9:00 a.m. to Review 2021 Funding Proposals.
