SUBJECT: Summit Food Service Contract Amendment
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Jefferson County currently contracts with Summit Food Service in a Partnership Agreement for purposes of
jail inmate food service. This amendment to the contract increases the food service and individual meal fees.
ANALYSIS:
The Agreement in place allows for agreed upon pricing adjustments at a rate no less than the greater of: 3%
or the most recently released U.S. Department of Labor Consumer CPI for All Urban Consumers.
FISCAL IMPACT:
It is anticipated that the increase will be able to be absorbed by the Sheriff's Office 2021 budget.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the board approves this contract amendment.

AMENDMENT No. 1 TO THE FOOD SERVICE PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT
This Amendment is made and entered into by and between Jefferson County Washington a ("Client"),
and Summit Food Service, LLC ("Company") (collectively "the Parties").
WHEREAS, The Parties have entered into a certain Food Partnership Agreement (the
"Agreement'), effective January 1, 2018
WHEREAS, The Parties have agreed to extend with pricing adjustment the partnership; and
WHEREAS, The Parties now desire to amend said Agreement upon the terms and conditions
stated herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties, intending to be legally bound hereby, mutually agree as follows:
1. Term. This Agreement shall be extended for an additional year beginning December 31, 2020.

This Amendment is effective as of December 31, 2020. All other terms and conditions of the original
Agreement (as modified from time to time) shall remain in full force and effect unless otherwise
amended as provided in the Agreement.
