COVID-19 - risk assessment dashboard | Washington State Coronavirus Response (COVID-19)
Ms. McCormick,
The information you are seeking is supposed to be compiled daily at the Dept. of Health risk
assessment dashboard (above link -- selected Jefferson County from drop down list).
Unfortunately this site has had trouble keeping up with the volume of statewide data and
does not display accurate cases counts or % positivity numbers. We do provide these on the
JCPH website.
JCPH has limited staff and resources to respond to all community data needs. Hospitalization
data is surprisingly difficult to accurately maintain as Jefferson County residents can be
hospitalized out-of-county (or State) and we do not know about it. We often know about local
hospitalizations but people are usually only admitted for the minimum amount of time
necessary. The data we do report, we try to make very accurate. If we cannot maintain that
accuracy with our existing resources, we tend not to report it.

CAUTION: This email originated from outside your organization. Exercise caution when
opening attachments or clicking links, especially from unknown senders.
Why is the county not publishing data about its daily Covid-19 hospitalizations, as are
other counties in our state? This is critical information that should be made available
to the public.
Sincerely,
Kathleen McCormick
