Share air time and encourage all members to participate DRAFT MINUTES The December 16th, 2020 meeting of the Empowered Teens Coalition was held at the Zoom meeting 3:30 – 4:30 PURPOSE OF THE MEETING: Reports: community update and news; GBG follow up, Rotary, Media Campaign, Audit, Survey report. Facilitators for this meeting: Denise Banker In attendance: Mark Gudger, David Engle, Lindsay Scalf, Ciela Meyer, Chris HoffmanHill, Kristina Mayer, Melinda Miller, Erica White, Richard Davies, Joe Nole. Time/Facilitator Activity 3:30 Denise Called meeting to order. Approve Agenda: Mark, David, all; Minutes: Lindsay, Chris, all. 3:35 Denise Check in and Update: School Board to vote on Naloxone Policy and AED Policy; Erica bringing on new students and continuing contact with prior students; District preparing and continuing to adjust to educational landscape during COVID; Coordinator hosted Connect GGC; Total of 136 surveys; DBHR Audit is on January 22; Sheriff’s office writing proposal for Navigator in Jail; Library had amazing response to Gingerbread House contest and have interactive 6 stories on the Story Walks in Brinnon, at HJ Carroll Park, and the at the library. 4:00 Denise Report: ~Discussed film Clarity. Denise will send link for viewing ~Discussed possibility of presenting at East Jefferson Rotary. Joe will contact Tim Roach ~Discussion of the Media Campaign. Denise will send details regarding the next meeting in January to the group. ~Discussion of establishing 2 paid internship positions to offer to students in the high school to work as prevention peers and with promotion of messaging ~Our next meeting will be Wednesday, January 20th via Zoom. 4:30 Denise Meeting ended at 4:30. The January 20th, 2021 meeting of the Empowered Teens Coalition will be held at the Via Zoom from 3:30-4:30, unless otherwise notified.
