DRAFT MINUTES
The October 21th, 2020 meeting of the Empowered Teens Coalition was held at the Zoom meeting 3:30 – 4:30 PURPOSE OF THE MEETING: Reports: community update and news; discuss Marijuana policy feasibility; Drug Take Back; Scheduling Life Skills in JSHS; Additional funding: Do we want to start a Resilience Project? Facilitators for this meeting: Denise Banker In attendance: Mark Gudger, David Engle, Kristina Mayer, Rebecca Ramsey, Lindsay Scalf, Ciela Meyer, Z. Jack Randall; Greg Brotherton; Joe Nole. 3:35 Denise Check in and Update: Ciela: New Position may be hired by November; Mark: Hard to reach students, home visits, food delivery; Rebecca: OlyCAP programs and funding; Denise: Guiding Good Choices, CFRRT,
Clallam Resilience Project.
4:00 Denise Report: ~Discussion of how to get Drug Take Back in Quilcene (Greg and Denise). ~Suicide Prevention: Ciela, Mark, Denise: ESD offers a Networks for Life training for faculty and staff; Benji Project begins soon in JSHS; Could have Mental Health First Aid from OCH.
~Upcoming Events/workshops: Life Skills in JSHS: Discussed how to embed or offer Life Skills as stand alone. Mark will contact Tony. Mark thought it best to embed it in health class because students have
enough on their plates with virtual / in-person academic highbred. ~Discussion of Policy SBH#1095 and Naloxone Policy: David Engle and Coalition in favor of proceeding with Karen Obermeyer’s technical
assistance. Denise will send information and invitation to Ad-hoc group. ~Discussed the possibility of launching a Resilience Project. Denise will send information. ~Our next meeting will be Wednesday, November 18th via Zoom.

The November 18th, 2020 meeting of the Empowered Teens Coalition will be held at the Via Zoom from 3:30-4:30, unless otherwise notified.
ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUG PREVENTION IS GOOD WORK.
